Manolis Androulidakis studied guitar with Notis Mavroudis and Costas Kotsiolis, Musicology and Composition at the Aristotle University, always winning excellence and awards. He taught for 3 years at the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and one year at the Technical University of Epirus.
He has collaborated with composers such as Mikis Theodorakis (among other projects, he conducted his 90th anniversary concert in the presence of the composer), Leo Brouwer, Nikos Mamangakis, Christos Leontis, Dionysis Savopoulos, with the most important lyricists and directors as well as with the music ensembles London Philarmonia, State Orchestra of Thessaloniki, Orchestra of the Hellenic Radio Television (ERT), Sinfonietta Beograd, The City of Athens Symphony Orchestra, The City of Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra, The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Musical Ensembles, the University of Thessaly Musical Ensembles etc.
His songs have been recorded by Maria Dimitriadis, Manolis Mitsias, Eleni Vitali, Miltos Paschalidis, Yiannis Kotsiras, Vassilis Lekkas and others.
In the last years he has returned more intensively to classical guitar, with original techniques and skilful arrangements and compositions, resulting in the creation of important musical performances and recordings.
In this context, as a soloist, he released the official collection of Mikis Theodorakis, “Myrtia”, a cd of the “Greatest Greek Musicians” collection, he presented his guitar arrangement “Chariots of fire”, in the presence of Vangelis Papathanasiou, his work “Un árbol llamado Lorca” with the City of Athens Symphony Orchestra, the concerto “Five Miniatures for Guitar and Strings” with the string quartet “L’ Anima” and then with the National Symphony Orchestra of the Greek Broadcasting Corporation and launched the recital “Greek music on six strings”, presenting it in the most important theaters of Greece with works from the cd’s “Myrtia” (2016) “GREEK CINEMA music for classical GUITAR” (2020) and “ANTHOLOGIA” for guitar” (2021).
In November 2022, he was commissioned by SEGAS to create the concept for the opening ceremony of the 39th Authentic Athens Marathon “Grigoris Lambrakis” at the Tymbos of Marathon, for which he composed an original score setting ancient Greek texts to music with particular orchestration and the use of ancient Greek instruments, modern and pre-recorded music.
